Pottery Place River

River run wild - River run free - River run deep

In this presentation of our Northern Gulf Country Rivers, I have endeavoured to convey my passion for this ancient geological wonder.  My passion is the earth, my art inspired by the rich ochres, burnt umber, deep red and black irons, pure white kaolin, metallic coppers and vibrant cobalt oxides of our ancient Australian geological landscapes.
Over a span of years, travelling to teach pottery in remote indigenous communities of the Northern Gulf Country, I photographed many aerial landscapes. These landscapes captivated me from my very first flight, seen through the window of the plane and still now.

Nature

Look at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars... and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence is joyful.  Everything is simply happy.  Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have any bank balance.  Look at the flowers - for no reason. It is simply unbelievable how happy flowers are.  - Osho -

 Pottery Place Aint Life Grand

Dream...

Gazing at the mighty ocean, Herman Melville thought '...these are the times of dreamy quietude, when beholding the tranquil beauty and brilliancy of the ocean's skin, one forgets the tiger heart that pants beneath it; and would not willingly remember, that this velvet paw but conceals a remorseless fang'
Beauty is in the mind of the beholder and when the beholder lets imagination wanders, forms and colours amazingly reflects one's existence...
